June: Letter from the President
DEAR LADIES OF LADY SADDLERS CLUB,
It is officially summer!
We've officially crossed the halfway mark of the year, and 2026 is galloping by. That begs the question: How are you progressing toward your riding goals for the year?
Now is the perfect time to pause and reflect. If you've fallen behind, consider this your invitation to recommit. If you've been making steady progress, take a moment to celebrate how far you've come.
Riding is a deeply personal journey, and like every meaningful pursuit in life, no two paths look exactly alike. What do you appreciate most about your own journey? What lessons have you learned over the past six months? And what will it take to finish the year strong?
This month, I had the chance to join our DMV members at the inaugural Four Nations Cup, where teams from Argentina, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States came together for an incredible day of polo.
As I watched the matches unfold, I couldn't help but think about how horses have this amazing ability to bring people together. On the field, each team proudly represented its country and traditions. Off the field, everyone celebrated together. It was a beautiful reminder that our differences aren't something to divide us—they're something to appreciate. Each of us brings a unique perspective, story, and set of experiences that only we can offer, and that's something worth celebrating.
If you ever find yourself comparing your journey to someone else's, remember this: you were meant to be uniquely you. There is no one else who can bring your gifts, your perspective, or your story to the world in quite the same way.
The tournament also left me reflecting on the many ways countries express their heritage through horsemanship. Every discipline, tradition, and style tells a story. One of my hopes for Lady Saddlers Club is that we continue exploring equestrian cultures from around the world—not only to deepen our appreciation for horses, but also to learn more about one another and, in the process, ourselves.
Next year, we'll have the opportunity to do just that as we travel together to South Africa and St. Moritz. I like to think of it as collecting stamps in our equestrian passports—one new riding view, one new culture, and one unforgettable adventure together at a time.
As the temperatures continue to rise, remember to stay hydrated, take care of yourselves, and don't forget to have a Horse Girl Summer. 😉🐎
