April: Letter from the President

DEAR LADIES OF LADY SADDLERS CLUB,

Giving back has always been deeply important to me. Throughout my life, I've been fortunate to have people and organizations invest in my development and future. When I created Lady Saddlers Club, I knew it needed to be more than a space for us to simply enjoy what we love. I wanted it to be a community that creates meaningful impact along the way.

While that intention has always guided my work, I also knew it needed to be operationalized and fully woven into the fabric of who we are. That is how our #RideForGood initiative came to life.

For those who may not know, a portion of our membership fees is allocated to this initiative. This month, we were able to put those funds into action in ways that truly matter.

We proudly supported the therapeutic riding program at Chastain Horse Park.

Our contribution directly supported a powerful initiative serving women and adolescents from Wellspring Living who have experienced human trafficking.

Through equine therapy, participants are able to rebuild trust, develop resilience, and reconnect with themselves in a deeply transformative way.

We also had the opportunity to support the Towson University Equestrian Club, a student led organization dedicated to providing riders with opportunities to train, compete, and grow within a supportive team environment. Our contribution helps cover lessons, competition fees, coaching, and travel expenses, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of participation and passion.

In addition, we hosted a career panel where members poured into the next generation, sharing their journeys, insights, and encouragement. It was a powerful reminder that impact shows up in many forms.

It truly takes a village. I am so proud that our herd continues to show up, not just for one another, but for the broader community.

In my home country of Jamaica, there is a phrase we often use, "likkle but wi tallawah." It means we may be small, but we are mighty. That is exactly how I feel about Lady Saddlers Club.

So the next time you are at a lesson or event, pause for a moment. Take a look around. And remember, you are part of something bigger than yourself.

Something impactful. Something truly mighty.
