Each year in the United States, approximately 17,000 horses are sent to slaughter, while an estimated 170,000 horses are considered unwanted. Behind these numbers are horses in need of safety, care, rehabilitation, and a second chance.
To help make a difference, we’re proud to partner with Freedom & Whiskey Equine Rescue to introduce the Stable Series, Lady Saddlers Club’s new monthly volunteer initiative in the DMV.
We’re honored to support Freedom & Whiskey’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide sanctuary for horses in need, while creating meaningful opportunities for our members to give back to the equestrian community.
We’ll kick off the Stable Series on August 23 with a special educational and volunteer experience at the rescue.
The morning will begin with a poolside brunch before volunteers head behind the scenes to meet members of the rescue herd, hear their remarkable stories, and learn from experienced handlers about equine rescue, rehabilitation, horse behavior, and safe handling.
This experience will also prepare members to participate in our ongoing monthly volunteer days, where Lady Saddlers will have the opportunity to work alongside the rescue and make a meaningful difference in the lives of horses on their journey to healing.
Best of all, a portion of every ticket will directly support the ongoing care and rehabilitation of the rescue horses.
Whether you’re new to horses or have years of experience, this experience is designed to educate, inspire, and prepare you to become part of a volunteer community committed to making a lasting impact.

Together, we'll build meaningful relationships, create lasting memories, and begin a volunteer tradition that changes lives—both human and equine.
