What is your favorite part about being a Lady Saddlers Club member?
All of the amazing women I have met along the way! Lady Saddlers Club has provided a safe and inclusive space to make friends with professional women from so many different careers and backgrounds that I never would have met before. The bonus? We all get to bond over something we all already love!
What do you love about horseback riding?
One of the things I love about riding is the partnership that forms between you and your horse. You get to work with an intelligent animal, and find a way to communicate with them that works for you both. It is the one activity I have in my life that completely clears my mind, where I can be fully present in the moment. There is no room to think about anything else, other than the moment itself.
What is your favorite equestrian event?
So hard to pick just one! We recently attended the Washington International Horse show, which helped ignite some new motivation for my personal riding goals. It was thrilling to watch those athletes compete at such a level! Aside from shows, I love all equestrian-based clinics and the knowledge I can take away from them.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
"If you can get 1% better each day for one year, you'll end up 37 times better by the time you're done."
This quote was told to me by a coach I had in a completely different sport. It has been something I've applied to all my athletic endeavors as a reminder to not strive for perfection, and that small, consistent improvements have a transformative potential.
