March: Letter from the President

DEAR LADIES OF LADY SADDLERS CLUB

March is Women's History Month, and across our chapters, we dedicated this time to celebrating you, inside and out.

Lady Saddlers Club is built and fueled by women from all walks of life, different backgrounds, ages, professions, beliefs, and lived experiences. To witness such a beautifully diverse group come together, to connect, to grow, and to fully step into their power is something that deeply moves me. It is, quite simply, why this club exists.

This community is a living reflection of the many ways we each experience womanhood. No two journeys are the same, and that is where the beauty lies.

In sharing space with one another, we are reminded that while our paths may differ, we are never alone.

When I first envisioned this club, I considered creating a space for all genders.

It was a compelling idea. But I kept coming back to something deeper, a desire to create a space for women, rooted in intention. A space where we can connect authentically, unwind fully, and restore ourselves in the presence of one another. A space that feels like both refuge and rise.

Across history, women have continuously shaped and redefined the equestrian world in powerful ways. From trailblazers like Kathy Kusner, who broke barriers as one of the first women to compete at the highest levels of show jumping and became a pioneering female jockey, to Cheryl White, the first Black female jockey whose legacy opened doors for greater diversity in the sport.

Beyond competition, women are shaping the culture and future of equestrianism through advocacy, storytelling, and community building, proving that this industry is not only influenced by women, but led by them.

In many ways, horses mirror the energy of being a woman. They are intuitive and deeply perceptive,

responding not just to what is seen, but what is felt.

They embody both power and softness, strength and sensitivity, independence and connection. They remind us that we do not have to choose between these qualities. We can hold them all at once.

So ladies, I encourage you to continue to fight for what you believe in. Be who you are. Be a woman, whatever that looks like and feels like for you. You shape womanhood. You shape history and the future. Own your power.

Thank you for being a part of this community. Thank you for showing up as you are and for continuing the legacy of women who shape this world, both in and out of the saddle.

Raven Rankine,

Founder and President
